One of the most annoying things to experience as a bass fisherman is snagging your lure. This puts you out of commission for a while and can also cost you money if you are forced to break your line. One thing that I’ve found helpful is to observe how and where you snag your line. Once you have this knowledge, all you have to do is position yourself on the other side of where you snagged up and make a few tugs. This will free your lure 90% of the time, but in the occasions where you are forced to break your line be sure to point your pole right at your snagged lure and pull straight back to snap the line. If you try and yank up on it, this will bend your pole and will damage, if not snap, your rod.
