As rods get more and more expensive, there is nothing worse than pulling it out of the rod locker and seeing that it is scratched or damaged. One helpful thing that I like to use to avoid this problem is a rod sleeve. These help to keep your poles covered and keeps them from getting scratched up and damaged while they rattle around in your rod locker. Along with this, it keeps your guides from catching on each other when pulling your rods out, which allows you to keep more rods in your locker at one time.
