While it is good to have general areas that you like to fish, the thing that you really want to look for when you are out fishing are spots on spots. This means that within a bass holding area you should try to find pieces of structure that bass would relate to. This could come in the form of rockpile located at the bottom of a drop off, a small weed bed within a gravel flat, or even just a sunken pipe located off of a secondary point. These spots on spots will most likely be your most productive fishing areas and will usually hold fish all year long.
