One thing that I’ve noticed happens a lot while out on the water is that hooks get caught on everything. This includes bags, nets, and clothes. Not only can these be a pain to remove, but they can also cost you valuable fishing time while you are out on the water. Most of the time you can get the hook out by pulling at it from different angles, but when that doesn’t work, I’ve found that the best way to get hooks out is to use pliers to pinch and break the barb on the tip of the hook. This will allow the hook to easily slide out of whatever it is caught on.
