When fishing a drop shot, or any finesse technique for that matter, the type of line that you use is extremely important. I would highly suggest using fluorocarbon because it is one of the most sensitive types of line. Along with this, fluorocarbon is virtually invisible in the water, so bass won’t be able to see it and won’t be spooked by it. Another thing that I like to do is to use braid and tie a fluorocarbon leader onto the end of it. Since braid has zero stretch, it is the most sensitive type of line on the market and by tying a fluorocarbon leader onto the end, you can get the benefits of this sensitivity, along with the benefits of fluorocarbon’s invisibility. By switching your line to one of these two types, you will be able to get more bass to bite.
