During the prespawn bass will make short feeding runs to the shallows, stuff their mouths, and then will return to their deep hideouts for the rest of the day. With this said, the best place to find bass is around structure that extends from the shallows all the way down to 30 to 40 feet. These actually act as highways for the bass to follow when moving up to the shallows and are a prime spot for bass to be located at this time of the year. A good way to find these pieces of structure is by looking at a topographic map of your local lake.
