The size of your lure can be the difference between catching a limit and getting skunked. As a general rule, it is best to use larger baits in stained water and smaller baits in clear water. This is due to the fact that larger lures displace more water and make it easier for the bass to locate in stained water. In clear water, bass can see baits from long distances and using a smaller lure can reduce the chances of spooking an approaching bass.
