Jerkbaits are very versatile baits, but are best in clear, cold water. This means that they are a great option for the late fall months. The cadence that I suggest you fish them at is twitch-pause-twitch-twitch-pause. This is just a general cadence that I have found success with and you may have to modify it for different lakes. Either way, you have to remember to work it slowly and exaggerate your pauses. Next time you get out on the water, give a jerkbait a try and it may just become your new favorite bait.
