I got out on the water at around 6:00 p.m. again because based on past trips, that seemed like the best time to start fishing. Since the right side had been hot the past few days, I decided to hit up the docks on the right side that were close to the boat launch. At the first dock, I made a few casts without success, so I moved on to the next one and gave it a try. I made a perfect cast between the corner and the swim ladder and as soon as it touched the bottom a huge bass hammered it and when I got it in the boat and weighed it, the smallmouth came in at 3.02 pounds. I then went on without success for about 30 minutes, but I kept on working the docks close to the boat launch. My persistence paid off a little, when I was able to land a small 0.5 pound bass, but then it went quiet again. It wasn’t until around 8:30 when I hooked into a decent smallmouth that weighed in at 1.83 pounds. After that I couldn’t get any more bites, so I decided to call it quits a little bit earlier.
Observations: The water was about 77-79 degrees today, which was slightly warmer than yesterday. The bass seemed to be a little deeper today because I caught mine in depths of 18-20 feet. The bass were a little bit more finicky today and I really needed to get close to the dock in order to get them to bite.
