I got out of the lake around 6:40 p.m. and since it was super sunny out I decided to head straight for Vasa Park and the docks around there. I worked the docks without success, so I moved over to the park and made some casts near the pile ons. On the second pile on I felt a massive bite and set the hook. It felt like a monster bass, but before I could see it, it shook the hook and got away. I couldn’t get anymore bites, so I moved down to the rock spot and hit the docks around there. I made some casts there and on the third dock I was able to land a nice 1.5 lb smalmouth bass. I kept working my way down the docks, but wasn’t able to get any more bites, so I decided to head in around 9:30 p.m.
Observations: The water temperature wasn’t as hot as last time, which was kind of odd, as it was around 74-78 degrees. The bass were still close to the docks, but weren’t as plentiful as last time. The one bass that I did catch was in 12 feet of water and in 75 degrees of water, so the bass haven’t gone too deep yet.
